Our journey to China began in January, when 12 talented educators met once a week to learn about China, collaborate and plan their lessons. The excitement was building throughout the six months. The time finally arrived. Eight educators met in Boston at Logan Airport, while the remaining educators from different parts of the United States met in Hong Kong. While in Hong Kong at the airport, the teachers began getting to know one another and sharing their excitement. After the long travel from the United States on Cathay Pacific, we all arrived in Fuzhou where we were met by our dear friend Chen Jian. We all boarded a bus for the drive to our hotel. On our way to the hotel, we observed the natural beauty of Fuzhou. Once we were close to our hotel we had a surprise stop at a local restaurant where we were greeted by our host from the Fujian University, Mr. LU. We were treated to a very authentic lunch then proceeded to our hotel. Once at the hotel the excitement was in the air. The Chinese educators were due to arrive shortly. We were about to meet our assistants along with other members of the university staff (Da Ming and Dr. Huong). The American teachers decorated their new classrooms, prepared for the lessons and we were ready to share our knowledge with our new friends.
